Future production woes in tehnology

< >The report by Prof.Thomas Gredel points to the scarcity of rare

earth materials. He claims that out of the 62 minerals 12 had no

alternatives when the mines will go empty. He further states that the

rest have alternatives but cannot work at their best with existing

technologies.< >China is the mining giant of rare earth materials. It

controls 80percent of the world's production. However it has come under

criticism in 2010 for its restriction for exportation of this precious

resource. The consequences are skyrocketing of prices upto five times

the normal whereas local companies in China were offered low costs.<

>Prof.Gredel said,''As weath and production increases worldwide

scientists will be challenged to maintain production quality by

designing new and better materials but doing so under potential

constraints in resource availability''.< >This attests to the fact the

precious minerals could face distinction in the future as a result of

high demand for gadgets amongst the population which increases the

production rate.< >

Irobot and the law of robotics. Do human-like robots exist?

I-robot was at the premier of movies when it was released in the year 2004. It bewildered, many a fan, including myself of how the future technology would look like plus the existence of robots, running almost equal or parallel lives with human beings. Perhaps, one century into the future, a possibility of self-driven cars and more flexible robots is a reality. Taking into mind those memoirs, I became quite interested and fascinated about the three laws written by Prof. Alfred Lenning in the movie Irobot in which Will Smith, a detective tries to unearth the meaning  of robots and their existence as a threat or benefit to humanity . I wanted to find out how it relates to robotics and physics. I-robot 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection d...
