Youtube's top 10 website ranking (2013) and review.

Youtube is one of the best sites in the World Wide Web but what is not

clicking for the video stream and download giant?It is number 23 in

rankings amongst the most popular blogs. This to my analysis, is good

but not exemplary perfomance by the company.



Youtube's annual turnover is approximately $300million, 100 times less

than Google's $30billion.This is according to statistics TechzipLOG

gathered from blogs and analysts.



Adverts

The internet web company might be lacking quality advertising

methods.The adverts are quite interesting and eye-

catching.However,not many consumers often watch an advert at the

expense of a penny unless on free wi-fi.



The company does not consider motion pictures as an alternative to

video ads.The video ads are expensive and time consuming as compared

to images.Furthermore, a large space is used up for user comments

instead of displaying ads just below the video window.



Target audience

The videos are of good quality yet a target of high-end consumers such

as laptop,desktop,symbian and android phone users .An individual with

a Java phone, has no alternative in download options or any app to

assist at video streaming.Thumbs down for that.



The consumer watchdog in TechzipLOG notes that third world countries

have the most poor people.Most of these people utmost,own an

inexpensive cell phone with a Java platform.How do you reach such with

no downloadable app?



Plugin installer

Plugins is another issue considering for example, Mozilla requires

frequent updates.These come at an expense of updating the Adobe

plugin.



The plugin installer is irritable as a slow pop-up window. An eager

consumer, waits only to be told ''download failed'' and even worse, to

refresh the page only to be denied another installer.Nonetheless,

he/she has to start from scratch and navigate through Adobe products

again to get back the installation window.What a hustle!!!



Video streaming

Live stream requires a lot of bundles to watch videos and TV, thus

costly.It disadvantages consumers in continental regions where 3G

penetration is low and expensive.This should have been put into

consideration so that an optional download tool, be given to

inconvinienced users.

Youtube should come up with alternatives that are user friendly by

considering the lifestyle of people and target audience.The advantage

will be higher traffic, advertisers and profits.



On the positive side

I appraise the website for its good services.Apart from some few

hitches, I consider it as the best in video streaming and downloads.In

addition, the company has uplifted the livelihoods of entertainers and

journalists as an income generating company.

Producing electricity from roads

A mexican scientist Marcias Hernandez has developed a system through which can help generate electricity using automobiles. The concept he developed is not new because other methods exists but is cheaper and less complicated. Other conventional methods have been using  pizoelectric effect to generate electrity. Energy is driven from the stress exerted by moving vehicles. The energy is then coverted into electricity and stored in batteries by the roadside. Marcias new invention involves the use of trumps, which moving vehicles exert pressure when running over a polymer ramp. Air is then forced at high pressure into a storage tank via hose pipes where it is stored and released. When it accumulates, it drives a turbine built underground. The turbine will then use this kinetic energy to be converted into electric energy by the generators. Israel has already constructed such a road system that is able to generate electricity.
